Our team of consultants can guide you through a practical, efficient transition to healthier soils

ST Biological’s Consultants

We have worked with growers in their fields, presented best practices to groups in industry meetings and seminars and supervised research programs evaluating some of the most recent products with roles in regenerative agriculture.

There are a number of companies in addition to ST Biologicals dedicated to providing products that will help restore soil health. We represent the ones we determined offer the best solutions. Our consultants are compensated by ST Biologicals and the companies we represent. So if you buy the products we represent, there is NO CHARGE for our consulting services.

Tom Vander Heiden, CCA
Vice President, ST Biologicals

Tom is a 35-year veteran of the ag industry, working in all aspects of agriculture. He was raised in Kaukauna, WI on a 60-cow dairy farm, with chickens and hogs. He always argued with his dad about having to mix the manures when hauling in the spring. Later he realized how smart his father was about fertilization and feeding the microbial population in the soil by mixing the manures. Tom went on to be a dairy science major, emphasis in nutrition, at the University of Wisconsin River Falls. He was taught by Dr. Lee Witwer, learned the Albrecht method and the importance of quality feeds, their production, and relationship with the soil. Since entering the work force, he spent about half his time in dairy nutrition and half in agronomy. It was while consulting in the western US that Tom realized the soil health aspects of the agronomy and the correlation between soil and plant health. For the past 8 years Tom has dedicated himself to assisting producers improve their soil health and to finding new and innovative products for use in the agricultural industry. Tom joined the staff at STB 2.5 years ago to build a company with quality products which all increase soil and plant health. He continues to work with suppliers and producers to understand the need to utilize basic principles of soil health. Tom has been a Certified Crop Advisor since 2005.
